Saffron was a Suzuki child, learning piano with Margaret Merrington. She found learning by ear opened up a love for improvisation and composition which led to a BA(hons) degree at Leeds College of Music.

Saffron began teaching during her degree and immediately felt an affinity with her students and great enthusiasm sparked by the process of learning. She has trained in Tonalis Music Education which has roots in Kodaly and Dalcroze. She has also studied Indian Classical music in Kolkata with Ajoy Chakrabarty.

Saffron has composed for large ensemble, string quartet and big band. She became an assistant to composer/arranger Simon Whiteside, working at Abbey Road on numerous projects including Brighton Rock and Downton Abbey.

Saffron has 22 years teaching experience. She embarked on her Suzuki teacher training journey in 2011 under Grant Mead and has never looked back. She has taught Suzuki Piano from her home in Somerset for the past 15 years and continues to love every minute. She is now a proud mother of two Suzuki children.
