LSG Bursary Scheme
Partly due to the losses sustained in 2020 when the Summer School had to be cancelled as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic a review of the bursary policies for the Summer School was found to be necessary and to budget a specific amount for the bursaries in total. Families are advised to get their Summer School applications in quickly. It is hoped that the revised policies set out below will be sustainable well into the future.
LSG student bursary recipients will continue to receive a bursary for the Summer School but this will now be at half the percentage of their main LSG Bursary, so a 70% LSG Bursary recipient will receive a 35% reduction of their main fee for the Summer School.
The LSG Trustees were pleased to introduce a 50% Bursary for the Parent or Other Adult accompanying a LSG Bursary child to the LSG International Summer School at Bryanston in 2019. This only applies to one Parent or Other Adult per family. However, due to the losses in 2020 and to be sustainable into the future, this must now be reduced to a 25% Bursary applied to the main fee.
These reductions do not apply to extra costs such as additional classes (e.g. Theory or Viola for Violinists), transport, excursions, or sports coaching nor for Weekend Visitors.
Please state in the Playing Child’s Music Notes section of the application that your child receives a Bursary from the LSG. This information will be checked with the LSG Office and the Business Manager will then apply the Bursary % reductions to the family’s main fees. An invoice for the balance due after the reductions will be provided.
The Deposit of £100 per fee paying person should be paid when submitting the applications.
