Shih-Ching is a creative and energetic freelance music teacher with over 20 years’ experience. She is passionate about inspiring children via music education.
Originally from Taiwan, Shih-Ching runs a successful Suzuki piano studio in Southwest London. Her pupils have one-to-one individual lessons as well as piano group lessons. With personal passion, Shih-Ching particularly enjoys working with children with additional learning needs.
She is an active member of London Suzuki Group (LSG), having directed numerous LSG piano concerts and workshops. She is also a member of British Suzuki Music Association (BSMA) event committee, organising National Suzuki Workshops.
She has been invited to teach in Suzuki workshops include BSMA National Suzuki Workshops, LSG Bryanston International Music Summer School and Temple Dinsley Summer School, Snowdrop piano workshop in Poland and many others.
Her wealth of experience makes her an exceptionally well-rounded music teacher. She originally trained as a primary school music teacher in Taiwan. She also has a variety of music management experience such as being an Education Officer at the Asian Music Circuit, producer in Philharmonic Radio Taipei and a Marketing officer for Contemporary Chinese Opera. In addition, she ran baby and toddler music groups in both English and Mandarin.
She is a member of British Suzuki Music Association, London Suzuki Group, European Suzuki Association and European Piano Teacher Association. She has a DBS certificate.
