kok-mynd2Kristinn Örn Kristinsson pianist graduated from The Akureyri Music School in 1977 and continued his studies at The Reykjavík College of Music, Southern Illinois University and St. Louis Conservatory of Music in the U.S.A. Among his main teachers were Philip Jenkins, Margrét Eiríksdóttir, Ruth Slenczynska and Joseph Kalichstein.

After finishing his studies Kristinn became a teacher at The Akureyri Music School for some time before he moved to Reykjavík. He was a cofounder of the Allegro Suzuki Music School in 1998, of which he is a director today along with his work as an accompanist at The Reykjavík Academy of Singing and Vocal Arts and part-time teaching at Iceland Academy of the Arts.

Kristinn Örn has been active as a chamber musician in recitals and on recordings. He is a certified Teacher trainer in the Suzuki method, he has written a book about the Suzuki method, and participated in summer workshops in Europe.
