Janine is a British violinist teaching and performing in Germany.

After gaining her Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of York she won a scholarship for post-graduate work at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, studying the violin with Jack Glickman, baroque violin with Michaela Comberti, and chamber music with members of the Takacs and Amadeus Quartets. With the prize-winning Takane Quartet, she participated in masterclasses with the Borodin Quartet at Snape Maltings and with Gyorgy Kurtag at Prussia Cove.

Following a year of freelancing with various chamber groups and ensembles in London and around the UK and Europe she completed her studies in Germany gaining her Artists’ diploma from Mannheim College for Music and the Performing Arts.

During her last year of study Janine won an apprenticeship to play in the orchestra of the National Theatre Mannheim (Opera House). She continued to work full time there until 2002. Janine has also worked regularly with the German State Philharmonic Orchestra (Rhineland-Palatinate) and the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester.

After the birth of her two children she decided to devote herself to teaching. She trained to be a Suzuki teacher taking courses both in the UK and Germany and acheiving her ESA diploma in 2020.

In April 2025 she was appointed Suzuki Teacher trainer.

She is director of the Mannheim Suzuki School and also vice chairmann of the regional Rhein Neckar Suzuki Association, running an annual workshop and regular Playtogethers. Janine is lucky to be invited regularly as a guest teacher on workshops in Germany and abroad.
