Jane Panter
JANE PANTER studied viola and piano at the Royal Academy of Music, graduating in 1975, followed by a Cert Ed at Trent Park college. Since then she has taught piano and strings both privately and in schools. When Suzuki violin started in Liverpool, Jane was invited to accompany the group classes in exchange for her youngest son, aged 3, taking lessons. Before long Jane had been persuaded to train as a Suzuki violin teacher herself.
That was in 1992, and Jane is now a Graduate of the ESA in both violin and viola, and also a Suzuki Teacher Trainer, regularly teaching children and trainees on courses around the UK and abroad, as well as running her own Liverpool Suzuki Group. She has organised Suzuki FiddleFests in the RNCM and Liverpool Cathedral, regional events for the North of England and also arranged residential weekends and concert tours abroad for her pupils.
Jane has 4 children and 8 grandchildren. She loves teaching, working with children and their parents, and sharing her love of all kinds of music. With her husband Ricky, a recently retired archdeacon, she continues her involvement in the local church and is a licensed Reader. She sings in the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir, leads the violas in the Crosby Symphony Orchestra and enjoys reading, gardening, walking and caravan holidays.
