Ian Butterworth
Ian Butterworth has had wide experience of conducting youth orchestras and as conductor of the Croydon Youth and Gwent Youth Orchestras he has directed performances in many European countries including Hungary, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.
He has also been the Musical Director of the Erato Orchestra since 1981. As a violinist he led the Morley College Chamber and Salomon Orchestras for many years playing under such distinguished conductors as Simon Rattle, Andrew Davis and John Eliot Gardiner. He has also led orchestras for Bryden Thomson, Edward Gardner and Rumon Gamba.
