Rick grew up living and breathing the Suzuki Method from the age of 2 years old. The youngest sibling of two older sisters who play and his mother being a Suzuki teacher, he was destined to have music as a prominent theme throughout his life.<\/p>\n
As a young adult he trained to be a fully qualified level 5 Suzuki teacher and was the co-founder of Suzuki Hub in East London where he taught for 7 years.<\/p>\n
In 2007 Rick discovered the genre of Jazz Manouche (colloquially described as gypsy jazz) and went on to form his trio The Square Pegs, playing original material and standards from the genre at venues and festivals all over the UK.<\/p>\n
In 2014 he joined Rum Buffalo, a 7 piece avante-garde Swing band\u00a0who he toured with all over Europe.<\/p>\n
In 2017 Rick moved to Australia to pursue a more performance based career, while continuing to teach part time. There he joined\u00a0Grouch in Dub and Mortisville and Friends,\u00a0blending live\u00a0instrumentation and\u00a0electronic music. They have toured all over the world playing at major festivals including performances in the UK at Glastonbury, Wilderness and Boomtown.<\/p>\n
Rick continues to teach Suzuki and Jazz and is now living in Brazil, exploring the wealth of musical culture that the country has to offer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
