What the parents enjoyed most:

“The atmosphere at LSG Bryanston is completely unique; It’s an incredibly special and uplifting week, with inspirational classes, group sessions, talks & performances to be enjoyed every day. Plus, a lovely, social atmosphere for students and their families. The only challenge is how to fit everything in!”

“The excellent quality of the teachers and classes, the concerts, the meals and, of course, the surroundings and activities, like Chikhung, organized for the participants. I appreciate also the possibility to get in touch with families of other countries and to follow the progress of the children who attend the course. I have the feeling of belonging the Suzuki family.”

“I enjoyed faculty concerts every evening and overall very highly quality of teachers & their dedication. The facilities at Bryanston are very good too.”

“Beautiful setting. Very collegiate and everyone was inclusive of us as new attendees. So nice to see and experience everyone interacting and passionate of their craft.”

“Playing chamber music in the evenings, seeing friends and family, not doing any cooking or washing up, watching the fabulous, inspirational teaching, joining in the play togethers and going to concerts.”

“Dedication of all the teachers, staff and stewards, all working towards one common goal, and the total absence of being judgmental or selective or favoritism; I suppose that is really the basis of the basis of the Suzuki method, but it is worth to stress how much it is appreciated.”

“General friendly and pleasant atmosphere. Quality and attention given by dedicated teachers, variety and good food, chi gung, fantastic teachers’ concerts, helpful stewards, superb overall organisation. New lively percussion and jazz piano teachers.”

“The quality and engagement of the teachers as well as the broad range of fun activities outside the classes.”

“The masterclasses. We had three really wonderful teachers and all three children were engaged, focused and learned a huge amount. Me too!”

“I love being familiar with the flow now after all these years. We know what to expect and it is easy to hit the ground running.”

“The access and immersion in incredible music from the children to the facility is always something we love. Plus the community spirit is always so nourishing to be part of. Thank you as always!”

“A well working, very convenient venue. We had a great selection of teachers and repertoire for our year groups was exciting, the stewards were very fun, inspiring to young kids and very helpful. We also loved the viola class. The pizza van was awesome too.”

“The concerts – seeing so many young musicians look so happy. Being able to watch one of our daughters do her solo on Saturday – an extra treat. The beautiful surroundings – lovely school staff and the amazing team who run Bryanston – thank you!”

“The brilliant and inspiring teachers in masterclasses, group lessons, choir and orchestra.”

“The atmosphere, all the different options (concerts, sports facilities, great meals), nice people, possibilities to take some alone-time, playing music with other parents in parent orchestra and afterwards with smaller groups, and certainly: Bell Ringing!!!”

“Apart from the beautiful surroundings (and amazing food), everything was very well organized, from A to Z. Administration before the course and during was excellent and all communication clear during our stay. Incredible and nurturing violin teachers and accompanists, the orchestra a was a very positive experience for my child and the stewards were helpful, very engaged and kind.”

“Watching my kids flourish over the week. They are in their element at Bryanston! I love the concerts and the caliber of musicianship. The grounds and setting are also beautiful.”

“The Playtogethers. Great to have all the children playing together.”

“At Bryanston, we have enjoyed a healthy and safe environment. The staff is friendly and always helpful. The facilities are comfortable and attractive, with large sports areas that enhance the experience.”

“Absolutely everything! It was tremendous. Bell ringing, choir with Frazer, tennis coaching, faculty concerts, supportive musical instruction, the revue, the jazz Ted session.”

“Lunchtime concerts. Evening concerts. Our accommodation at Harthan was brilliant. Art studio with Margaret. Catering. LSG team were great. Swimming pool.”

What the children enjoyed most:

“Swimming pool; playing with other children; the magic of the grounds (esp. the amphitheatre and its surrounds); being given plasters by Philip; the art room and Margaret; Kimberley Wong; hearing the chamber orchestra play. In her words: ‘Why do we have to go home; can’t we live here forever?'”

“They loved their classes, playing with their friends outside the dining hall, playing at the Amphitheatre, swimming every day and the pasta bar.”

“Let me go into a bit more detail. Mallory Gildersleeve, Charlotte Clemson, Amy Cluggish, Rachel Cooper, Frazer Scott and of course, Claire Wake were an absolute dream to watch.”

“Charlotte seemed to know exactly how to get the most out of Sebastian every single masterclass lesson, working him hard and keeping his enthusiasm sky-high. Amy was similar with Evelyn, showing us lots of games that had Evelyn running to her masterclass lessons each day.”

“Mallory’s group lessons were wonderful. Evelyn commented that she was worked hard in group, but that it was really fun. I think the adults in the room loved the lessons too – I certainly did. They were paced so well, and watching the progress the kids made with their playing (as well as their concentration and attention) was wonderful.”

“Rachel is a joy to watch with the 305 orchestra and Sebastian absolutely adored the shark piece. Frazer and Claire bring wonderful variety to the string playing. The choir was another highlight for Sebastian (he had never sung in a choir before), and Evelyn loved the musicianship lessons, particularly the improvisation and the dynamics game.”

“Finally, the pasta bar was a revelation. I think the kids had pasta every evening during the course. It took away the stress of previous years of trying to cobble something together that was bland and boring enough for them to eat. There is so much going on at Bryanston that whilst they are this age, having ease at dinner time is wonderful.”

“Children enjoyed playing in groups, staying in teenage house, playing football in the evening and swimming. They also value independence to move around the campus safely which isn’t possible in London.”

“The expert insight of the Masterclasses; The fun & interactive group lessons, and the inspirational perfomances all week from students and teachers. The Faculty concert, the Revue and the Lunchtime concerts, are just some of the many highlights.”

“The possibility to get in touch with children of other countries that also like music and to share the learning time with them at the group and orchestra classes. My daughter also likes very much the athmosphere at the Teens House. She enjoys, or course, very much the concerts of the advanced students and the faculty concerts.”

“Someone flying a kite during the Mary Poppins sing-along. I’ll send a video to you – one of those magical Bryanston moments.”

“Sports (esp football and Darius) and hanging out with other children. It was really fun.”

“The art workshop was a big hit. We also went to the pool everyday and enjoyed it a lot.”

“The girls love boarding life, the grounds, being with their friends and now being 13 and 15 a true sense of independence. They love their masterclasses most out of all of the lessons and Lily adores the fun choir. The Revue is always a lovely reward at the end of a hard week.”

“Making progress with her violin technique, performing at the lunchtime and end-of-week concerts as well as the Revue! “Enjoyed staying in teen house, the lessons and the course as a whole – it was really fun. Playing Dvorak American – and having a chamber group with one per part.”

“The viola class was a massive hit, the sports facilities (apart from development points, pls see below) and the independence of running their day by themselves.”

“Play tennis and go swimming and just generally playing around. I had two kids. One kid said, when asked about Music, the piano group with Graham and the other liked master class with Caroline, Keyboard with Richard.

“My child simply loved Elena Parker’s master classes, very empowering for him to learn so much in such a short time with her. He also loved everything about Orchestra 304, a fantastic experience for him.”

“Everything! Well, maybe not having to practice everyday, but otherwise, they loved everything. They generally love the sense of freedom and independence they have between and after classes when they get to roam around campus, going to the art room (Margaret is fantastic!), playing tennis (Matt is amazing!) and doing cartwheels on the lawn. They also loved all their classes and their teachers (obsessed with Frazer!) and loved the food. They did not love it when we forced them to go to concerts every night because they wanted free time but were generally impressed when they did.”

“Our daughter loved the social relationships. She formed a group of friends who, despite not knowing each other before, were brought together by a shared passion.”

“Making music, learning new things, in a very inspiring and friendly environment.”

2024 What the parents enjoyed most: “The atmosphere at LSG Bryanston is completely unique; It’s an incredibly special and uplifting week, with inspirational classes, group sessions, talks & performances to be enjoyed every day.
Spending 1:1 time with me(!), but also the lessons, and the opportunity to do other things, specifically bell ringing and art.

She liked the lessons and also that they had enough time to practice or relax.”
